ADVENTURE WHALE WATCH (DECEMBER TO APRIL)
Whale Season is a very exciting time in Hawaii, here on Maui and aboard Kai Kanani. Whale songs can fill the water and be heard on even the most casual snorkel excursion. And it’s almost impossible to sit on the beach and not see some type of whale action…spouts of the whales as they come up for air, breaches as they jump out of the water, and tail slaps as they smack the surface.

LA PEROUSE BAY
Also known as Keoneʻōʻio, this picturesque area is located at “the end of the road” in South Maui, a few miles beyond Makena State Park. This region is known for its rugged lava landscapes, dramatic coastline and awesome hiking trails.

MAUI OCEAN CENTER
The Maui Ocean Center is an aquarium and oceanography center located in Maalaea, Hawaii on the northwestern side of the island. Explore living reefs, rare corals and a turtle lagoon. Watch sharks, rays and huge fish interact with each other as part of the impressive “open ocean” exhibit, where guests walk through a glass tunnel and take in overhead views. The newest addition to this immersive marine life experience is the 3D humpback whale sphere that will leave you in awe.

THE NEEDLE AT IAO VALLEY STATE PARK
Towering emerald peaks guard the lush valley floor of Iao Valley State Park. Located in central Maui just west of Wailuku, this peaceful 4,000-acre, 10-mile long park is home to one of Maui’s most recognizable landmarks, the 1,200-foot Iao Needle. This iconic green-mantled rock outcropping overlooks Iao stream and is an ideal attraction for easy hiking and sightseeing.

HALEAKALA CRATER AT HALEAKALA NATIONAL PARK
Not only is Haleakala Crater the location where, according to Hawaiian mythology, the demigod Maui lassoed the sun, but it’s also one of the most beautiful places you could possibly watch it rise. You will need to come early to see this magic unfold as it can take up to two hours to travel to the summit and reservations are required to enter Haleakala National Park during early hours. Haleakala’s elevation is 10,020 feet.

NAKALELE POINT
Nakalele Point is famous for a blowhole which produces powerful geyser-like water spouts with the waves and tides. Water spewed from the blowhole can rise as high as 100 feet in the air. Visitors to the site should never stand between the blowhole and the ocean, and sightseers should never turn their backs on the ocean as rogue waves could cause injury at any time.

THE SEVEN SACRED POOLS
Nicknamed “seven sacred pools,” the Pools of ‘Ohe’o provides an amazing swimming experience. Surrounded by a lush rainforest and bamboo trees, the cascading waterfalls and natural pools is East Maui’s most popular attraction. Visit on a sunny day as wet weather can sometimes close the area for safety reasons.
